This is a travel diary about new places, housesitting and whatever other stuff happens as I travel around the US with Captain Kirk. I started housesitting during covid, taking weekend trips here and there, and its been a great experience. Its a win-win for pet owners and travelers, as long as you like animals. Pet owners get someone to stay in their house to feed, walk and play with their fur babies, and house sitters get a free place to stay and meet some happy, loveable critters… and humans too. I haven’t had a bad sit yet, although I did think that one place may have been haunted, there were some weird vibes going on!

This year, I will be moving out of my place, putting all my stuff in storage, embarking on housesitting fulltime, and embracing the digital nomad life. My plan is to do this for a full year, but that’s not set in stone. One thing I’ve learned in my life is that plans dont always work out the way you want them to. The real plan is to explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and hopefully have some fun along the way. If you know me and my tendency to over plan and over analyze, you’ll know this is going to be a challenge .. or an opportunity.

Captain Kirk, the greatest of all explorers! If you hate science fiction and you hate Star Trek, well I’m sorry for you, because you’re missing out on a lot of fun. If you hated the new Star Trek movies because they went all alternate universe so they could stray from the original characters and plot, again, I’m sorry for you. And if you hate William Shatner, come on?!? The guy just went into space for real! At age 90!!! And if you hate Chris Pine, well, then what universe are you from anyway ??? So yes, Captain Kirk travels with me and helps me to view things from a different perspective. And he’s fun, and (almost) everyone knows him, and (almost) everyone likes him.
